Day 6

We drove and parked at Burneside to continue where we’d finished the day before. This last day, Burneside to Bowness, was fairly easy and we had great views of Windermere from the seat that has a plaque marking the end of the Dales Way. I caught a bus back to Burneside to collect the van. To complete the journey properly, we took the car ferry across Windermere and went on to spend time at Coniston.

Marilyn, despite a couple of blisters, Jan & Robert all coped easily with the walk. The weather was good and our bus passes were useful Our chef produced some excellent meals.

At the campsite that night, there was a moment of concern when Robert spotted fluid dripping down the front wheel of the van. We were worried that a brake cylinder might be leaking. I checked the reservoir but fluid level was fine so I was puzzled; until I glanced at Jake. I think had he made his final comment on the walk.
